NetXpress Internet Provider
Welcome NetXpress users!

As you may know, NetXpress has undergone a few changes. NetXpress has been acquired by Real/Time Communications. Real/Time was one of the first Internet Service Providers in the country. We currently have 8 high-speed connections to the Internet and are adding more in the near future. Your connection to the Internet is now far greater than it was before.

The NetXpress name will remain the same but your level of customer service has increased.

We operate a 24 hour, 7 day a week support system. As you may have noticed, after hour support no longer stops at a given hour, rather our support dispatch system is operating 24 hours a day, with two support technicians on call 24 hours a day. If the two support technicians are not enough, we also have two high-level engineers also on call. Remember to always leave a message if you encounter a voice mail prompt on our support line, because this is the secondary support dispatch system, and we cannot respond to your call without a message.

We are in the process of switching all phone services to a new phone company with all-digital equipment. This will reduce or eliminate many of the problems we see with Southwestern Bell. However we can only fix half of the problems this way, your end of the telephone connection is still going through Bell (or a third party in some cases) and is beyond the reach of our improvements. Our new phone company is running on state of the art all digital equipment while Southwestern Bell is still using a mixture of very old equipment (some over 20 years old) and a small number of new upgrades.

The exciting news for NetXpress customers is that your connection to the Internet is now among the quickest and most responsive in the State of Texas. Internet Web Surfing and downloading software take less time than ever. We will soon be offering a roaming service for all our customers in each city. Roaming will allow you to access the Internet and your account from wherever you may be.

Many of you have been told that access fees were going up drastically. This is no longer the case. The only change that will occur will be that "12 month prepaid flat rate, no home page" accounts will be renewed as "flat rate dialup, noncommercial home page" accounts. There are no other rate changes planned for current NetXpress customers at this time.

The access charges for new NetXpress customers will be $19.95 per month on a flat rate un-metered basis for 56k access. This dialup account includes 1 e-mail box and a personal noncommercial home page.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during this transition and welcome you to new experiences on the Internet.

We have been conducting tests with our new digital phone lines, and a small number of Netxpress customers have already experienced the upgrade. The new digital service is based on K56flex modems combined with ISDN equipment.

In addition to the 56k modems, we will offer 64k and 128k ISDN at a price very comparable to the modem price. The average user will be able to connect at 128k for the same time he uses now, for the 19.95 rate. Users using ISDN in excess of 60 channel-hours will be billed an additional $.50 per channel-hour thereafter. Users connecting at 64k will be able to stay on-line for more than twice the time that an average user uses. This means high-quality, high-speed Internet connectivity for the same price a modem users pays. This is the most aggressively priced ISDN service we have seen to date.

We are planning continual improvements, with new services and features, in order to be the best value on the Internet.

Thank you for using NetXpress, a Real/Time Communications Internet Company.

Regards,

The NetXpress/RealTime Staff
